All classes will be conducted under the rules and regulation as set forth in the current OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION. All owners and ex-
hibitors are responsible for knowing these rules. Special attention will be paid to RULE 401 & 441. Classes will be run in the order listed.
ENTRIES CLOSE September 10, 2009. Please enter complete information for each HORSE and
RIDER(S) on the enclosed registration form. Use one form per horse. A one-time POST ENTRY
PENALTY of $25 per horse will be charged for entries postmarked after September 10, 2009.
Photocopies of AQHA papers, current AQHA Amateur and Youth card must accompany entries.
Numbers will not be issued unless entry forms are completely and legibly filled out.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. All riders/handles must have a current, individual AQHA
or AQHYA membership. Show management must inspect the membership cards or photocopies
prior to issuing entries. If an individual cannot produce a current individual membership card, ex-
hibitors will complete the appropriate application. (AQHA or AQHYA) and pay the proper mem-
bership fee. An exhibitor MUST PRESENT A CURRENT CARD OR PURCHASE MEMBER-
SHIP before they can show. Amateur certifications CAN now be obtained at the show. Exhibitors
in Novice Amateur and Novice Youth classes must have a card showing “N” in membership
number. See AQHA rule 102, 402, 403 and 404.
Stalls are available from noon Friday, September 18th at a pre-reserved cost of $25 per stall per
night, bedding not included. Feed and bedding available on the show grounds at reasonable market

ALL AROUND AWARDS will be calculated like AQHA. One horse, one rider, one division.
A Select Amateur may compete in an Amateur class if no select class is available in that event.
Points earned in those events count toward the All Around Award. Halter must be shown under
All JUDGES to qualify for All Around Award.
SAQHA and its show management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that
may occur. It will be a condition of entry that the exhibitor will hold SAQHA and its show management and personnel blameless for any loss or sickness to his horses(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire, theft, or otherwise.
ANY CHECKS RETURNED to show management as “insufficient funds” will be assessed an additional $30 office charge. Be aware of AQHA Rule 105(e).
CLASS CALLS: Every effort is made to maintain a working PA system. However, the PA must be considered a courtesy. It is your responsibility to be at the gate for the classes you have entered.
GATE ENTRIES: According to AQHA policy, gate entries will not be accepted. Exhibitors must submit class entry cards in the show office at least three classes before the class they plan to show in.
CLASS SCRATCHES: Scratches must be done in the show office one class ahead of the class to have been entered for the class fee to be credited.
PIMA COUNTY FAIRGROUND RULES: Violators of the following can be fined under Pima County Law. 1) Unlicensed drivers are not permitted to operate any motorized vehicle (ATC’s, scooters, golf carts, etc.) on the grounds. 2) DOGS MUST BE LEASHED or confined at all times. 3) NO LIQUOR may be brought onto the grounds.

Note: All classes are double judged, therefore it is considered two classes per single class entry.
ALL SHOWS SANCTIONED BY AzQHA are assessed $1.00 per class entry to help fund year-end awards. This assessment is included in your entry fee.
PERFORMANCE HALTER CLASSES require proof of AQHA Performance ROM. An exhibitor may not enter the corresponding halter class.
Stallions may not be shown in youth or novice amateur classes. Youths may not handle stallions.
AWARDS: First through sixth place. Grand and Reserve Mare, Gelding and Stallion to receive show ribbon. Halter Grand and All-around trophies available through AQHA. High Point Awards to be tabulated on a basis of nine or more in a class: 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1: eight in a class: 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 etc. Points accumulated throughout the show. TIE BREAKERS: 1) Greatest number of first places; 2) Highest placing over greatest number of horses; 3) Tiebreaker judge.
